The Sample Browser is your main workspace for discovering and organizing audio samples in your personal library. Think of it as your music sample search engine – it helps you quickly find the perfect sound for your next track.Browser Layout
Your Sample Browser is organized into three simple areas:- Left Sidebar: Your navigation menu and organization tools
- Top Filter Bar: Quick search and essential filters
- Main Area: Your sample results with playback controls
Finding the Right Samples
Sample Vault gives you multiple ways to narrow down your search and find exactly what you need.Quick Filters (Always Available)
These filters are always visible at the top of your screen:- Search Box: Type anything – sample names, descriptions, or keywords
- Favorites Only: Show just your bookmarked samples (heart icon)
- Sample Type: Choose between loops, one-shots, or see everything
- BPM Range: Set your tempo limits with the slider
More Filters (Click the Sliders Icon)
Need to get more specific? Click the sliders button to reveal additional options:- Sort Order: Organize by newest, oldest, random, relevance, or alphabetically
- Musical Key: Find samples in specific keys (C, D#, F, etc.)
- Musical Scale: Filter by scale type (Major, Minor, Dorian, and more)
- Tags: Search by descriptive labels (both your custom tags and auto-generated ones)
- Genres: Browse by musical style (AI-detected and manually assigned)
- Visibility: Public/private filter (available for admin users)
How Tags Work
Tags are like labels that help describe your samples. Sample Vault creates some tags automatically, and you can add your own custom ones.Automatic Tags

Audio Analysis Tags: Based on what the app “hears” in your samples
- Speed tags (slow, medium, fast)
- Energy level (chill, energetic, intense)
- Sound characteristics (bright, dark, punchy)

Your Custom Tags
Add your own personal tags to organize samples your way:- Right-click any sample and select “Add Tag”
- Select multiple samples to add tags in bulk
- Use your custom tags in filters to find samples quickly
Navigation Sidebar
The left sidebar is your control center. You can collapse it to save space or expand it to access all your organizational tools.Save Your Favorite Searches (Filter Presets)
Found the perfect combination of filters? Save it so you can use it again!- Save Current Search: Click “Save Preset” to store your current filter setup
- Make It Your Default: Star your most-used preset to load it automatically
- Manage Your Presets: Edit names, load saved searches, or delete old ones

Collections: Your Sample Playlists

Need to find samples from specific sources? These dropdown menus make it easy:- Sample Packs: See samples organized by which pack or library they came from
- Creators: Browse by the artist or producer who made the samples
- Both show you exactly how many samples you have from each source
- Search within the dropdowns to find specific packs or artists quickly
Browse by Category (Directory Tree)
Explore your samples organized by type and style:- Smart Organization: Samples automatically sorted by what they are
- Click to Expand: Tap any category to see subcategories inside
- Sample Counts: See how many samples are in each category
- “All Samples”: View your entire library at once
- Mobile Friendly: Automatically adjusts for phone and tablet screens
- Drums: Kicks, snares, hi-hats, and all percussion
- Melodic: Leads, pads, arpeggios, and basslines

Playback Controls
The built-in sample player provides consistent audio playback throughout Sample Vault, whether you’re browsing samples, reviewing AI suggestions, or organizing your collection. Having a unified audio player means you don’t need to switch between different tools or remember different controls. Everything works the same way, letting you focus on making music rather than learning interfaces.Player Features
Playback Controls:- Play/Pause: Click the play button or use keyboard shortcuts
- Waveform Visualization: See the audio content at a glance. Click anywhere to jump to that position in the sample
- Automatic Caching: Cloud samples are downloaded once and cached locally for instant playback
- Previous/Next Sample: Navigate through samples in the same folder
- Keyboard Shortcuts: Use number keys 1, 2, 3 for previous, play/pause, next
- Auto-discovery: Automatically finds related samples in the same location
- Drag and Drop: Drag samples directly into your DAW or other applications
- Copy to Clipboard: One-click copying for pasting into any audio software
- File Location Access: Quick access to the sample’s folder on your computer

Playing and Managing Samples
Each sample in your results comes with everything you need:- Built-in Player: Click to play with a visual waveform display
- Sample Details: See BPM, musical key, length, and file size at a glance
- Visual Tags: All tags and genres displayed as clickable badges
- Favorite Button: Heart icon to bookmark samples you love
- Right-Click Menu: Access additional actions and options
Working with Multiple Samples
Need to organize lots of samples at once? No problem:- Select Multiple: Check boxes next to samples, or use “Select All on Page”
- Bulk Favorites: Add or remove heart icons from many samples at once
- Mass Tagging: Add or remove custom tags from your selection
- Genre Assignment: Apply genre labels to multiple samples
- Edit Properties: Update BPM, key, scale, creator info, or sample pack names
- Organize: Move samples between different categories
- Visibility: Make samples public or private (admin users only)
