Sample Browser
The Sample Browser is your main workspace for discovering and organizing the samples in your personal library.Layout
The browser is split into three areas:- Left Sidebar: Collections, filter presets, and navigation tools
- Filter Bar: Search and filter controls at the top
- Results Area: Sample list with playback controls
Filters
Search
Type into the search bar to filter samples by name or keyword. Results update as you type.Filter Bar
The filter bar sits above the results and exposes the most common filters:- Favorites: Toggle to show only favorited samples
- Sample Type: Filter by loops, one-shots, or all
- BPM Range: Set minimum and maximum tempo
Advanced Filters
Click the filter icon to expand additional options:- Sort Order: Newest, oldest, random, relevance, or alphabetical
- Musical Key: Filter by key (C, D#, F, etc.)
- Musical Scale: Major, minor, and modal scales
- Tags: Filter by descriptive labels (your custom tags and auto-generated ones)
- Genres: Filter by AI-detected or manually assigned genres
Filtering by Collection
Click any collection in the left sidebar to filter results to only samples in that collection.Collections
Collections let you group samples together for easy access — by project, mood, style, or anything you choose.Creating Collections
- Click the ”+” button in the sidebar Collections section
- Drag samples into a collection, or use the right-click menu → Add to Collection
- Click a collection to filter the browser to only its samples
AI Collections (Premium)
Tell the AI what kind of collection you want in plain English and it will select matching samples automatically. Available on paid plans.Filter Presets
Save your current filter state as a preset to reuse it later.- Click “Save Preset” to name and store the current filters
- Star a preset to make it your default (loads automatically)
- Click any saved preset to restore those filters instantly
Playback
Player Controls
- Play/Pause: Click the play button or press
2 - Previous / Next: Navigate through samples in the same folder using
1/3 - Waveform: Click anywhere on the waveform to seek to that position
Tempo & Key Lock
- Tempo Lock: Time-stretches samples to a global BPM
- Key Lock: Transposes samples to a target key
- Ableton Link: Syncs with your DAW’s transport
File Integration
- Drag and Drop: Drag samples directly into your DAW
- Copy to Clipboard: One-click copy for pasting into audio software
- Show in Finder/Explorer: Open the sample’s folder on disk
Working with Samples
Sample Details
Each sample row shows:- Sample name and folder path
- BPM, key, and duration (when available)
- Tags and genre badges
- Favorite button
Bulk Actions
Select multiple samples using the checkboxes to:- Favorite or unfavorite in bulk
- Add or remove tags
- Assign genres
- Edit properties (BPM, key, scale, creator, sample pack)
Right-Click Menu
Right-click any sample for quick actions:- Add to Collection
- Edit Properties
- Copy to Directory
- Download / Export
Similar Samples
Click “Find Similar” on any sample to surface samples with matching sonic characteristics. See Similar Samples for details.File Browser
