Application Tiers and Usage Limits

Sample Vault offers different subscription tiers designed to match your music production needs and budget, from hobbyists to professional producers. Subscription Badge:

• Located in the top navigation bar
• Shows your current plan and usage status
• Green: Normal usage, plenty of room
• Yellow: Approaching limits (80%+)
• Red: Limits exceeded, upgrade recommended

Monitoring Usage

Storage Usage: Shows how much space your uploaded samples are using. Remember, this is for the cloud backup copies - your original files don’t count against this limit. Daily AI Usage: Tracks how many AI operations you’ve used today. This includes:

• Conversations with the AI assistant
• AI-powered sample searches
• Automatic sample suggestions
• AI-generated collection creation

Both meters show percentage usage and warn you when you’re approaching limits. Detailed Usage View:

• Access through Settings → Billing & Usage
• Storage Bar: Visual representation of file storage used vs. available
• Daily AI Usage: Track AI operations used today vs. daily limit
• Reset Schedule: AI usage resets daily at midnight

When You Hit Limits

Storage Limit

• You cannot upload new samples until you free space or upgrade
• Existing samples remain accessible and playable
• Collections and AI features continue working

Storage Limit: You can’t process new samples until you upgrade. Existing samples continue working normally.

AI Usage Limit

• AI chat becomes temporarily unavailable
• Sample analysis and AI-powered features are paused
• Limit resets at midnight each day
• Existing AI conversations and results remain accessible

AI Usage Limit: AI features become unavailable until the next day (limits reset daily at midnight UTC). Basic browsing and playback still work.

Managing Your Subscription

Free Plan users: Click “Upgrade Plan” to access pricing and subscription options. Early Supporter subscribers: Use “Manage Your Subscription” to update payment details, change plans, or cancel.

Common Questions

How do I know which subscription plan I’m on?

Check the subscription badge in the top navigation bar. It shows your plan name and includes a warning indicator if you’re approaching usage limits.

How do I free up storage space on the Free plan?

Deleting samples is currently not supported.

Can I try premium features before upgrading?

The Free plan gives you a taste of most of the premium features with usage limits. You can see exactly what the AI assistant offers, test the sample organization tools, and evaluate the interface before committing to a paid plan.

Why does the AI sometimes suggest I upgrade my plan?

When you’ve used your daily AI operations or are approaching storage limits, the system will suggest upgrading to ensure uninterrupted workflow. This helps you avoid hitting limits during creative sessions.
