Overview
Navigation Bar
The navigation bar at the top of the app provides access to all major features.Main Navigation
- AI Assistant — chat-based sample discovery and production help
- Library — your full collection with search, filters, Sound Profile, and the Map, Circle, and Scatter views
- Settings — directories, processing, AI, billing, account
Title Bar Controls
- Workspace Selector — switch between workspaces; the active workspace’s BPM and key are applied to playback automatically
- Directory Drawer — folder icon opens the File Browser with your configured sample directories
- System Status — opens the Library status panel showing per-stage processing counts (Total, Analyzed, Classified, Uploaded, Enriched, Embedded, plus Failed when relevant), cloud sync state, and the most recent entries from the Activity Log. Includes a pause/resume control and Analysis Speed slider while processing is active. See Adding & Managing Samples for what each stage unlocks
- Subscription Info — current plan and a low-pool indicator. Click to open Billing & Usage
- Help & feedback — single dialog for docs, changelog, shortcuts, bug reports, feature requests, and Discord (
Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+/)
Playback Controls
- Link — enables Ableton Link and auto-enables Tempo Lock
- Tempo Lock — time-stretches every sample with detected tempo to a global BPM
- Key Lock — transposes every sample with a detected key to a target key
Window Controls
- Pin Window — keeps Sample Vault on top of other applications. The navigation bar becomes more compact when pinned
- Drag handle — when pinned, drag the grip in the center of the navigation bar to move the window
- Resize — works like any other window, pinned or not
Sample Context Menu
Right-click any sample anywhere in the app for the full action set.Sample management
- Sample Info — full metadata, tags, technical details
- Edit Sample — modify metadata (only on samples you uploaded or as admin)
- Quick property editors — change Key, Scale, Tempo, Creator, Sample pack, Type (loop/one-shot), or Category without opening the full editor. Creator and Sample pack open a searchable picker; Tempo suggests your library’s most common BPMs
- Tags / Genres — add/remove dialogs that mirror the Sample Info picker. Right-click any chip in the filter rail or Sample Info pane to Rename or Delete it across your whole library
- Classify sample — re-run AI audio tagging without redoing local analysis
- Add/Remove from Favorites
- Copy to Clipboard — copy the file for pasting into your DAW
- Open File Location — jump to the sample’s folder on disk or in the Library
AI actions
- Discovery — Find similar samples, What genre is this, Suggest complementary samples
- Creative — Create a beat using this, Suggest arrangement ideas, Help me layer this
- Analysis — Analyze the musical characteristics, What key is this in, Describe the mood
Collections
- Add/Remove from Collection — drop into custom collections
